Kitsch-ina is born

Day 1

I have been totally inspired by my close friend and artist peskychloe, yesterday we visited her at the Pannier Market in Leeds( last Saturday in the month at Granary Wharf ). There was an amazing collection of artists, artistans, cooks and general like-minded crafty folk gathered there.

As a child I grew up believing that my Mum and her pinny (only ever the half type) were connected and remember being quite shocked when I saw her without one on, so early on was exposed to many funky fabrics in the early to mid 70s.

Over the last few years I have developed a love of collecting fabrics and have been running things up on the sewing machine for friends and family. I find particular joy in vintage fabrics and haberdashery so have decided to join Chloe on her crafting journey and combine my hobby and loves, collecting and creating!

I have the name Kitsch-ina with inspiration drawn from my Italian heritage mixing kitsch fabrics with cucina ( Italian for kitchen ) .............................and sew it begins!
